I am in Joe Watanapun's Airbnb on the 6th floor of an apartment block in central Bangkok. It was a very long and dull flight, dark and cloudy most of the time. Though I glimpsed some Chinese mountain ranges, rough and black; capped with grey and white like a miner's knuckles; stretching out in all directions. It was near midnight when the airport train reached the centre of town and Joe met me.

Sitting in the Square in Milnthorpe waiting for Viv and cat to come return from seeing the vet. Georgie, the cat, is being fitted with a new hearing aid. This gives me a chance to try this phone app and decide if I leave the laptop behind. Not having a fancy iPad.... Yet. My bags are packed and I am ready to leave for Burma via Bangkok. And after Bangkok I go to Flores and Komodo. How do I add a picture? Milnthorpe square, scene of a series of tragic fountain accidents. First Miss Wotsit on the way back from evensong, then the elephant. (Look it up yourself!) How can the temple strewn plain of Bagan and the tropical isles of Flores compare with this?
