Yesterday the sign went up with help from Caitlin and Henry from Fruits of the Lune. Fruits is opening on the same day as Atticus, this Friday, and sells local crafts such as bricks with handles. There is still lots to do and we will have to continue sorting out all the admin stuff, accounts and many other things after we open. Part of the problem is that we can no longer run as a conventional bookshop and do not want to be a charity but something in between, some kind of not for profit social enterprise. The plan is to support Tasikoki Animal Rescue and Jogja street musicians. How this will work I am not sure yet, but at least we can help promote awareness if nothing else. |
