On the Wednesday before I started here I went to see They Might Be Giants with Kit and Claire in Manchester. It was a belated fathers day present.
Kit and I have been listening to TMBG since he was small and someone lent me a cassette of the album Flood to listen to in the car. Strangely they don't seem to have aged and remain popular with a younger generation thanks to their children's songs, cartoon and tv themes, internet work and constant touring.
So the gig was a sellout and the audience probably spanned three generations.
It was very loud, lots of my favourite tunes and at times very funny too.
I bet you all remember this:
'Keep a nightlight on inside the birdhouse in your soul!'

Hurrah, I've sold a uke!
At the moment it is only the current craze for ukeleles that keeps this shop afloat. When will people discover the nose flute?
By the way you can email me your Christmas orders now. I have some amazing musical bargains for less than a fiver. ideal presents for your younger relatives,
And older relatives still young at heart.
I'll be telling you, and hopefully selling you more, more in the next few days.
