Aside from the morass of work and the seeming impossiblity of finding an afordable flight to Indonesia a few things of interest have come up.
1) The discovery of Mahendrapvarta
2) An article on the effects of fear and stress upon animal populations made me wonder if this had been taken into account in the recent study that showed magpies having no effect on the numbers of small birds. It certainly seem as of the bigger birds are pushing out the smaller ones from my backyard observations.
3) I watched My Afternoons with Margueritte with Viv the other day. ( I won't recommend the film, it's rather over sentimental but fun. I found the curious British film Skeletons more interesting.) But if anyone has seen Margueritte can you tell me what the Jules Superville story is that appears the film?
There will be a B&B update when I have collected enough expressions of curiosity/early bookings.

1. I wondered if you knew about the Angkor at discovery. Apparently it's been published in Proc Nat Acad Sci.

Did you read the full article on fear of predators? It was based on the wolf population in Yellowstone, I think.

Drink 6 very dry martinis without an olive, and then on the 7th add an olive and think of a lost loved one, childhood sweetheart, favourite pet, your Mum's apple pie.
