Before putting to sleep the discussion about music I just want to reply to Liz's challenge with this picture of the Muse Polly with her spade. If you care to look her up you will find she was a multi-talented Muse equally at home in the sciences as well as most arts, or out there digging away in the fields.

What a great picture! I am happy to say I've never heard a spade . Doubtless you are at this very moment composing a tune for one.

I meant predictive but prescriptive was probably a subconscious reference to the grammar points and therefore my mistake and not iPad being predictive .

Writing online is never easy and one is always going to make mistakes. I still think 'one' is usefully vague.
