I am taking a break from my clearing my office; it is marvelous how the paperless office can generate so much paper! So far I have two bin bags full.
My thanks you to all who have asked after the state of my teeth.
Well, sadly some of them have gone the way of the quagga and the bubal hatrtebeest, and now my famous beaming smile no longer beams so beamedly.

It is strange that there is no good online museum of dentistry yet.
So I refer you al to the Dental Clinic history pages
and the lamentably small BDA museum.
I wonder if the collector who bought Churchill's denture was a collector of false teeth or Churchilliana? Let us hope it is the former and that the collection is put up for online viewing.

Someone sent me a beautiful paperback copy of the Tao Te Ching. It came with a cryptic signature that may be Chinese but looks rather Arabic.
I think I have guessed correctly, so thanks ?.
I never got around to reading the Tao Te Ching when I was selling hundreds of the Wildwood House edition back in the 1970s. Somehow it seemed a little too hippy and New Agey. Now I wish I had kept a copy, so the gift was very welcome. This edition has an excellent historical introduction, giving the background of the Warring States period and the 100 Schools.
Thanks again, I have been neglecting my interest in ancient Chinese History lately and Lazlo Montgomery at the China History Podcast is currently going through Civil War and the fall of Chiang Kai-shek.

I apologise on behalf of The Lancaster Guardian for the intrusive adverts that appeared with the seal video. I tried to see if I could hack it but after a few half-hearted attempts I gave up and just linked the photo instead.
I keep meaning to cancel my online subscription and then another irresistable headline pops up. The latest being, Duck Death Accused Found Not Guilty.
Back to the bin bags!
Oh, the Tooth Worm? You can find out about that by following the links I gave you. I exaggerated the size of the one that ate my teeth.
