words wont come
tongue stuck like a swollen slug in a stone crack of mouth speech no more than hiss and scrape that carries no meaning with it Even the scrawled lines unravel twist and loop writhing and stretching until they become no more than a straight line ______________________________________ only the tap tap tap on keys with cold num fingers gos on a whil untl tha to bcms unrdlxqp4$...... -------------------------------------------------------------- Yet still the messages appear, the phone rings and downstairs I hear someone banging on the door. I start up, leaving these lines still incomplete, and catch the sound of laughter in the street.

By the way, I notice most of your parodies are of 19th and early 20th Cent poets. What about those who are writing now?

"That final last line"? Would that be the ultimate final last line or one of the other ones? If it is the concluding ultimate final last line you refer to then we can only guess at Chapman's meaning. Perhaps it is simply honest admiration.

It has come to my attention that Mr Alec Smart has been shamelessly plagiarising my work. Unless this stops immediately he will be hearing from my lawyers.
